I was so happy when I saw that, I bought the magazine because of MIB 3, and when I opened the magazine I saw him, I was jumping like crazy. I translated the interview!!! Enjoy it!!!
There was a time when you used to say that you didn’t want to be an actor. Do you remember when you’ve decided what you wanted to do?
Is wasn’t a moment, but a gradual process. I was a child actor and dropped everything when I was 13. After college, I joined the navy, in Sweden. We were all trying to figure out what we wanted to be. I started to realize that I missed the stages. Shortly after, I decided to go to New York to theater studies and end the matter.
How did you prepare yourself to the movie?
Generation Kill, helped me a lot, because I trained my accent and I spent 7 months among militaries to figure out their culture. That helped me a lot, as well, from my experience through the Navy, in Sweden.
How is your life “off work”?
To tell you the truth, It has been a little crazy. I have been living in hotels for the last 5 months. I filmed the fourth season of True Blood, and filmed 2 movies in New York. I went to visit my family in Sweden and then I went to Rio to see my father (Stellan Skarsgard), who was there working. It was amazing . I was in Copacabana, Lapa, Santa Teresa, after that I went to some festivals. I got back to Los Angeles and we are shooting the fifth season now. My life is pretty agitated, but everything worth it when you do what you love!
“It was a very deep experience!”, tells vampire Eric from True Blood, Alexander Skarsgard. “On the set there were veterans, that were there in 1945 and those guys entered the ship, walking through the deck and they started to tells us stories. It was an unforgettable moment. There is still a kamikaze’s brand from when the ship collided with the USS Missouri. They’ve buried the pilot.”
Skarsgard plays the navy, Stone Hopper, and has an irresponsible brother (Taylor Kitsch), who also joins the navy. He filmed Battleship, right after Melancholia from Lars Von Trier. “Peter is an actor too and I really liked him, because he first started to talk about the brother’s relationship and that would be place to explore the duality between them,” says. “When I watch a movie like this, if I don’t care about the characters, it won’t matter to me how amazing the explosions will be.”
